Spring is around the corner, and it’s time to kickstart the season by giving back to nature!

Nordic Ocean Watch Denmark, in collaboration with Beta Boulders, invites you to join us for a cleanup mission this March. As a thank you for your time and effort, Beta Boulders is offering free bouldering sessions to all volunteers!

Schedule:
13:00 – Meetup at Sydhavn & welcome by our team (specific location will be announced closer to the day).
13:15-14:00 – Cleanup at Sydhavn by the canals
14:00-14:15 – Sorting of waste - Citizen Science in action!
Bonus: After the cleanup, we head to Beta Boulders for a free bouldering session as a reward for your efforts! Just bring your energy and a pair of comfy clothes!

Note: Please note that the free entrance does not include climbing shoes, those would need to be rented by the volunteers for a price of 49kr at the reception!

Let’s take action for the planet and have some fun while we’re at it. See you there!

Spring is right around the corner which means Nordic Ocean Watch Denmark is getting ready to kick off the 2025 cleanup season!

Join us at our second cleanup this year where we are so fortunate to cooperate with Svanemøllebugtens Vinterbadelaug again who kindly offered us to enjoy their sauna after the cleanup.

Here is the detailed schedule:

13:00 Meetup at the beginning of Svaneknoppen and welcome by our team.

13:10-14:30 Cleanup on Svanemølle Strand and sorting of waste - Citizen Science in action!

14:30 Sauna and hygge at Svanemøllebugtens Vinterbadelaug (please register and bring your towel and swimsuit)

⋆OBS! Anyone can join the cleanup, but there are only 25 sauna spots available. To reserve your spot, get a free ticket on Eventbrite.

If you cannot attend, please cancel your ticket to make it available to someone else.

Join us for the most important event of the year: World Cleanup Day 2024! Let's come together to give Refshaleøen a much-needed cleanup after a busy summer.

This year, the World Cleanup Day community is raising the bar, aiming to engage 5% of the world's population in a global effort to create lasting change in how we handle waste.

We're also excited to announce that La Banchina is partnering with us for this special day! After the cleanup, enjoy a free drink (beer or soft drink) on them as we kick off the weekend together. Cheers to making a difference!

World Cleanup Day is an annual global social action program aimed at combating the global mismanaged waste crisis, including the problem of marine debris. It is coordinated by the Let's Do It World NGO, a global organisation with headquarters in Tallinn, Estonia.

From 2024, World Cleanup Day is declared an official UN Day, on 20 September annually, and has now been added to their Calendar of International Days and Weeks.

NOW x 2024 Dragon Boat Festival Copenhagen

Following the great participation from all volunteers last year, we are excited to partner up again with Copenhagen Dragon Boat Festival for a special cleanup on the midsummer Sunday, 23rd of June.

The event will take place at Frederikskaj, South Harbour in Copenhagen where you can participate in our cleanup for free, as always. It is also free to enter the Dragon Boat Festival area all day.

The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Asian festival, which has a history of more than 2,000 years. At the festival, you can watch dragon boat races, cheer on your favourite teams, dive into Chinese culture, and experience hundreds of booths of pan-Asian food and drinks!

Here is the detailed schedule for the cleanup :

13:00 Meetup at Frederikskaj, 2450 by the Nordic Ocean Watch Banner and welcome by our team

13:15-14:15 Cleanup the Dragon Boat Festival area

14:15-14:45 Trash sorting and weighing - Citizen Science in Action!

Snacks and water will be served during the cleanup as a special treat for your effort to protect our ocean . After our event, you are more than welcome to stay and continue enjoying the Dragon Boat competitions and festival performance till 18:00 in the midsummer night.

NOW x Kitekollektivet - World Oceans Day Cleanup and FREE Paddle Boarding

Nordic Ocean Watch Denmark is teaming up with Kitekollektivet to invite you join our cleanup and make a splash on World Oceans Day on 8 June.

Kitekollektivet gladly offers 10 paddle boards for you to collect trash!

The schedule for the day is:
13:00 Meetup by Kitekollektivet in Dragør and welcome by our team
13:15-14:45 Cleanup on Sydvestpynten
14:45-15:15 Sorting of waste - Citizen Science in action!
15:15 Enjoy the sun and socialise by Kitekollektivet with coffee and fruits!

Don’t forget your swimsuit and towel if you fancy a paddle board ride!

⋆NOTE: All are welcome to join the cleanup, but we’ve got only 10 paddle boards up for grabs. Fear not! We’ll rotate folks for a chance to paddle (about 45 minutes per group).
